Welcome to Milton Keynes Sailing Club. MKSC was formed in 1978 with the primary objective of promoting the sport of sailing. The club has a friendly and informal atmosphere, and visitors are always welcome to call into the club if they want see the facilities or need any information regarding sailing.

The club is affiliated to the RYA, and is an accredited training center. Courses are run throughout the year for all levels of skill from beginners to more experienced sailors looking to improve.

MKSC offer all year round sailing. The water is open for casual sailing seven days a week, with the recommendation that there is always two boats or more, on the water for safety reasons. Racing takes place every Sunday thorough out the year in a mixed handicap fleet, with both handicap and pursuit format races. During the Summer months racing takes place every Wednesday evening. The Wednesday sessions takes place in very relaxed atmosphere which is an excellent introduction to racing. The club has a numerous social events through out the year were all members of the family are encouraged to take part. "Sail-away" events are arranged to other clubs often on the coast to allow members to experience sailing in different locations and conditions.

In September 1993 MKSC moved the new Watersports Centrex at Caldecotte lake (south). At the Centrex the club has a large dinghy compound were members boats and trailers can be stored. There are also changing rooms with lockers and showers available. There's a large social area that is used through the year for lectures and training courses, social events, and as a general base for families groups supporting their family members taking part in sailing. There is good access to the building and the changing rooms are equipped for Wheelchair users. Caldecotte lake is situated to the south of Milton Keynes, just off the A5 near to Bletchley.

The club has its own Safety and Committee boats that are manned by RYA qualified Coxswains during all formal club water based activities. The club also has a number of single-handed and two-man dinghies available for the use of club members providing they can sail to the required RYA Level 2 standard.

Sailing membership is not expensive. Below are our club fees for 2008/9. We operate an annual membership from April to April, however as the year progresses we offer a sliding reduction.
